She’s mine too. I love her witchy gypsy soul. haha!
This is a good youtube video – the sound is really great and so are the pictures. Of course it made me sad. (though dad is NO Lindsey Buckingham.) heehee
Me too. We are the lucky ones. I just love this song. Her voice is just perfect for that time period and those lyrics, etc. I saw them play in Madison Square Garden when Rumors came out. It seems like a million years ago.
The minute I saw the title of your blog post, I started humming the song, before I even knew it was the subject of said post. Shows how embedded the work is in our collective memory. I love this song.
There should be a “Love” button as well as the “Like”. Oh the memories. I agree with you about Rumors. I love a lot of albums, but Rumors is the one I love most. Thanks!
Yeah, I think when you have such a deep emotional connection you’re bound to have spontaneous moments like that. It definitely makes for a great performance. This song really resonates with me. I love it.
I am, thanks to all the positive input. This song actually has great lyrics that speak to what I’m going through. It’s sad but also hopeful.
Thanks, lady.
I’ve always loved this song. Well, always since I first heard it all those years ago. I didn’t love it before then because, you know, I didn’t know about it.
It’s a good album and I always had a thing for Stevie Nicks. (What guy didn’t?) But it’s not the perfect album. The perfect album, is, and always will be, Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, Night Moves. There is not a bad song on that album and I could play it until the cow come home or my ears bleed. HF
Bob Seger, huh? I could see the appeal for you. His lyrics are poetic in the Bruce Springsteen sort of way. I’m not gonna lie, he has some good songs. He’s solid. Perfect album…? I’d have to listen to the whole thing. I know a lot of guys that like Bob Seger – maybe it’s a ‘guy thing’?
I was a little too tall
Could’ve used a few pounds
Tight pants points hardly reknown
She was a black haired beauty with big dark eyes
And points all her own sitting way up high
Way up firm and high
Out past the cornfields where the woods got heavy
Out in the back seat of my ’60 Chevy
Workin’ on mysteries without any clues
Workin’ on our night moves
Trying’ to make some front page drive-in news
Workin’ on our night moves in the summertime
In the sweet summertime
We weren’t in love oh no far from it
We weren’t searching for some pie in the sky summit
We were just young and restless and bored
Living by the sword
And we’d steal away every chance we could
To the backroom, the alley, the trusty woods
I used her she used me
But neither one cared
We were getting our share
Workin’ on our night moves
Trying to lose the awkward teenage blues
Workin’ on out night moves
In the summertime
And oh the wonder
Felt the lightning
And we waited on the thunder
Waited on the thunder
I woke last night to the sound of thunder
How far off I sat and wondered
Started humming a song from 1962
Ain’t it funny how the night moves
When you just don’t seem to have as much to lose
Strange how the night moves
With autumn closing in
Here comes old rosie she’s looking mighty fine
Here comes hot nancy she’s steppin’ right on time
There go the street lights bringin on the night
Here come the men faces hidden from the light
All through the shadows they come and they go
With only one thing in common
They got the fire down below
Here comes the rich man in his big long limousine
Here comes the poor man all you got to have is green
Here comes the banker and the lawyer and the cop
One thing for certain it ain’t never gonna stop
When it all gets too heavy
That’s when they come and go
With only one thing in common
They got the fire down below
It happens out in vegas happens in moline
On the blue blood streets of boston
Up in berkeley and out in queens
And it went on yesterday and it’s going on tonight
Somewhere there’s somebody ain’t treatin’ somebody right
And he’s looking out for rosie and she’s looking mighty fine
And he’s walking the streets for nancy
And he’ll find her everytime
When the street light flicker bringing on the night
Well they’ll be slipping into darkness slipping out of sight
All through the midnight
Watch ‘em come and watch ‘em go
With only one thing in common
They got the fire down below
I know this one, as well. Good song. I’m going to refrain from commenting further and joking about the “fire down below” lest you decide to tell the blogosphere (yes, I saw what you wrote on Emily’s post) that I’m telling dirty jokes.
A classic, Lisa! Thanks.
Thanks, Amy. Listening to it again it brings up a lot of feeling. It’s a great song.
It is and I can see why. I’ve always loved Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks!
Me too. I think Rumors is a perfect album. She has the best voice – I love singing to these songs.
Bill Clinton has forever ruined this band for me…but they are so very good.
Eh, Bill Shmill… I won’t let him ruin some of my favorite music. (But yeah, that one song, “Don’t Stop,” is dead to me. tee hee)
Landslide is so good. Stevie is like my favorite witchy woman ever.
She’s mine too. I love her witchy gypsy soul. haha!
This is a good youtube video – the sound is really great and so are the pictures. Of course it made me sad. (though dad is NO Lindsey Buckingham.) heehee
Lol it’s true. Lets be real. teehehe
One of my favorite songs — ever. And I got to see Stevie singing it live. LOVE. IT.

I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love this song. It’s sort of perfect for my mood today. Another classic.
There should be a “Love” button as well as the “Like”. Oh the memories. I agree with you about Rumors. I love a lot of albums, but Rumors is the one I love most. Thanks!
It is a perfect album. I’ve often wanted a “love” button, too. I’m with you, I’d use it for this. “Oh the memories…” Yes, indeed.
I have the live version of this on my ipod.. love it.. I will always love Fleetwood Mac..
Chin up sister
Talk about great lyrics… Lots of emotion there.
Fleetwood Mac will always be a favorite. I love them, too.
Thanks, lady.
I never realized how great a song it was until I heard this version. Just watch Lindsey toward the end.
Yeah, I think when you have such a deep emotional connection you’re bound to have spontaneous moments like that. It definitely makes for a great performance. This song really resonates with me. I love it.
Totally enjoyed that. I know it’s bit by bit, up and down, but but I hope you’re seeing a little light today and that you’re feeling it bit better…
I am, thanks to all the positive input. This song actually has great lyrics that speak to what I’m going through. It’s sad but also hopeful.

Great song, great band. I didn’t appreciate them as much when I was young. Now, they are a wow.
I think Rumors is as close to perfect as an album can get. I agree, they are a wow!
My graduation song… and forever a very meaningful song, in my life. Love it.
That’s a great memory to have attached to it. Something about it just resonates.
I’ve always loved this song. Well, always since I first heard it all those years ago. I didn’t love it before then because, you know, I didn’t know about it.
I would be surprised if you loved it before you ever heard it, but then I wouldn’t put anything past you, John.

It’s a good one. I’ll give ya that.

Wasn’t me, honest! It must have been some other Harper Faulkner. It’s a common name. HF
LOL Lisa!! *arrow pointing up to your last comment to Harper* HA!
I’ve always loved this song. Her singing is so enchanting.
Glad you reminded me!
hahaha! I can’t resist giving him a jab now and then!
She does have a great voice, doesn’t she? Enchanting is the perfect word to describe it.
Now and then, now and then, I’m like a pin cushion! HF
Great to hear that again – hope you are feeling brighter.
Thanks, my friend.
Love thus song. Thanks.
Me too. It’s a great one.
