Taking a short break…
W E E K E N D P O T P O U R R I
I have a VERY busy week ahead of me and so I’ll not be posting. Please don’t cry. For those of you who follow me you may have noticed that the gears have slowed to almost a grinding halt, anyway. You must feel incredibly deprived, I can only imagine. Sometimes life gets in the way of blogging, as I’m sure most of you know. I’ll try and check in and comment as I’m able. When I return I’ll be ready to go!
A Mini Movie Review
For what it’s worth, I did see “Snow White and the Huntsman” and I really liked it. It’s definitely a fairy tale for adults. Kristen Stewart, who I’m not a fan of, actually redeemed herself a little bit – at least she appeared to be acting in parts. Charlize Theron was wickedly wonderful. I’m not big on Goblins and Fairies — thankfully they kept that to a minimum. Fans of “Lord of the Rings” won’t mind, but for me that would be the only low point. Other than that, I think it’s REALLY well done. If you need a fun escape, this is your movie. GRADE A-
Enjoy your break and I know over the next few months my posts will be down to about 3x a week..I have many other projects I want to attend.. Post when you want and know we are here..
Lynne 🙂
Thanks for the sweet message, Lynne. I know you’re one busy girl. It ebbs and flows, right? At least we won’t disappear for the summer like Harper Faulkner! He has some nerve! Ha! I like to give him grief even though he’s not here to read it, wait, ESPECIALLY since he’s not here to read it! Haha!
Rats. I’ll miss you! I hope you have a good week!
Thanks kind Madame! I’m gonna try to read and comment when time permits.
You have a good week too!
Hm, I was thinking it might be too … ‘childichly’ acted or too flat.I wasn’t sure if it would be worth a look.
But now you wrote this and I want to see it…
Yeah, I think you’ll like it. It’s a good summer escape movie. let me know what you think…
I certainly hope the reason for the break is a pleasant one (perhaps a sold house?) and you enjoy each moment of your time away. You’ll be sorely missed.
Thanks Miss Addie. No, I wish it was a sold house. I’m exhausted from the whole process. It’s just a busy break but it’s all good. I’ll be reading and commenting when possible. Just didn’t want anyone to think I’d disappeared. : )
I’m excited to see that tonight! Should be a good one! Enjoy your break momma. I think I might do the same. It’s a shame to stay inside during the summer! Have lots of fun!
Thanks my darling child!! Enjoy the movie, oh, and the delicious Canadian popcorn. I may have to do a post about Canadian popcorn soon. Haha!
YOU’RE TAKING A BREAK?!?!
*deep breath*
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pete, why are you so great? Thanks for the love and support. I’ll be back, no tears.
I’m only as great as the people I know 🙂
Awwwwwwww…. : )
Enjoy the time off…let the batteries recharge…I suggest occasionally getting up and doing some kind of twirly dancing…maybe skinny dipping once in a while…or maybe something a tad bit more physical like checking out the local rock climbing gym…a little off the wall you say?…well sure, but what else would you have expected from me?
Of course, we can’t wait for you to come back!
Be encouraged!
Thanks Stephen! Twirly dancing, skinny dipping and rock climbing… From a guy who gives great advice, this is not a good moment for you. Hahahaha! Actually, one of those sounds appealing and I won’t say which one. Have a great week!
Lisa
Have a good break recouping! And I was on the fence about Snow White but you might have convinced me!
It’s a good summer escape movie. It’s fun. Actually, it’s got a really good message about real beauty coming from within. Who knew Snow white was so deep?
Indeed, who knew?!
Enjoy your break! I had to take one last week because of the wrap-up of the school year. Also, thanks for the movie review. I was curious about the film, and now I will go and see it! Have a relaxing break! 🙂
The end of the school year is always so crazy. I bet you’re pooped. I’m definitely needing a break, a little me time.
I think you’ll like this movie. It’s got cool special effects. It’s a fun summer escape movie, for sure.
Have a great week!
Hi,
Enjoy your break, and I am glad you enjoyed the movie, it certainly does look good from the previews. 🙂
I think you ‘ll like it. I’ll be back soon!
What? Lisa! You have a life other than blogging? LoL! That movie looks really good and every single time I read your movie reviews I always come away hungry for popcorn! Now I’m craving Canadian Popcorn and I’ve never even tasted it! HA Ha! Have a great week off and enjoy that thing I vaguely remember called “oustside” 😀
I know, it’s hard to believe that I have a life. Haha! It’s hard to believe that any of us have a life!
Linda, my husband and I love popcorn like nobody’s business and this one theatre that Lily took us to had the most unbelievably delicious popcorn we had ever tasted. Talk about the goodness of maize! Haha! they know what they’re doing up there in Canada, at least where popcorn is concerned. Lol!
Really? That’s amazing! I guess they must use corn that’s been engineered for a short growing season! Or maybe it’s that cows make better butter when it’s cold. Either way I’m getting hungry for it and I may have to go to the nearest theatre and see whatever is playing so I can get some! Lol!
The summer is very busy time for a lot of people. They enjoy sunlight and exercise. Not me. Expect 20 posts a day as I hide away in the shadows away from the Vitamins the sun provides us with.
Will be excited for your return!
Thanks moose child. I’m trying to find some balance. My time sucking addiction to blogging is going to be the first casualty when I get crazy busy. And look, here I am replying… I’m seriously sick.
Good luck with the balancing act! If you get really good at it, you can audition with Cirque Du Soleil! I’ve been hearing good things about Snow White and the Huntsman. I’m trying to decide between that and Prometheus as my next movie to see.
haha! Cirque Du Soleil! Maybe in my next life I’ll be balanced and coordinated ’cause it ain’t happening in this one.
I’m looking forward to Prometheus, as well. I understand though, from my son, that it’s a whole lot like Alien. If you end up going let me know what your thoughts are.
