Tuesday’s Grab Bag

A LITTLE HODGE-PODGE

Today’s post will be a mess o’ jumbled topics. I have little bits of this and that which I’d like to unload in one random post. Here goes…

DENTAL UPDATE – I had a root canal on tooth #28. The pain continued despite the fact that there was no nerve or root to speak of. Mysterious? Yes. Horrifying? Absolutely. Turns out I may have had an unnecessary root canal. In fact, I may have something called “Neuralgia.” Wikipedia states, The pain associated with Neuralgia is recognized as one of the most excruciating pains that can be experienced. Thanks internet! Oh, did I forget to mention, there’s no treatment or cure for Neuralgia.  My response, “Yee Haa! It’s really shaping up to be a great summer!!!! The only thing that could trump this news is if I’m able to achieve full consciousness on my death bed.

I’m already picturing myself on medical Marijuana, looking like Barbara Hershey in Beaches, wrapped in blankets at the seashore, waiting to die. (Cue: Wind Beneath My Wings).

AWARDS nymuse88 delighted me, many moons ago, with the, “Illuminating Blogger Award.” Since she’s an extremely talented writer and lyricist and all around artist, par excellence, I was incredibly flattered.  (And it even matches my Header!)

I have to choose 5 other bloggers to pass the torch to. Since I’m a bit lazy I thought I would invite any one who frequents my blog or who is on my blogroll to partake of this beautiful award. I have the utmost respect for all of you and always enjoy what you have to say, even when I don’t. ONLY KIDDING!! I always do : )

This award requires that I share a random fact about myself. I think I’ll share two since they kind of go together. I suppose I can be a wee bit indulgent at times.

1. The Winslow Homer painting that I use as my Header, The New Novel, is framed in my bedroom. Yup, it’s the original….. Just joking, I wish. The irony is that since I’ve started blogging I haven’t had time to read a single novel! haha!

2. “A Gripping Life” is actually a throw away line from the movie “Bridget Jones.” I don’t know why, but it makes me laugh every time I hear it. I doubt anyone else will think it’s funny. I believe it’s that English sense of humor that catches me off guard, the way they down play everything… They’ve got quite a good sense of humor across the pond, if I do say so myself. (The bit I’m speaking of is at the beginning and yes, there’s some language.)

LASTLY… I just wanted to say how completely in awe I am of this blogging community that I’m somehow lucky enough to be a part of. All of you inspire, validate, comfort, humor and challenge me with your thoughts and feelings. “I stand all amazed” at the human experience that we lovingly share. Thanks guys!
