I’ve never written a political post and likely never will. There’s been a lot of “discussion” out in the blogging community but it’s felt very one sided and as we all know, there are two sides to a coin. I just thought this might give balance to what’s been floating around out there. It’s intelligent and thoughtful. I ask if you’d please refrain from commenting if it’s just to rage. This should provide something to think about…
Dear Mr. President,
I will not be voting for you this November, just as I didn’t in 2008. While in 2008, I merely had hunches about why I didn’t want you to be the president of the U.S. mostly due to your lack of past leadership experience and voting record; now I have been witness to your presidency and know why I do not want you leading this country for another four years.
Back in 2008, you promised to unite Americans across cultural, ethnic and ideological divides. Our country is more divided than ever as you have pitted the haves and the have-nots against one another. Your theory of taking more from the top to give to the bottom simply doesn’t work. Lowering the top rung on the ladder of success will not remedy the job crisis in this country, raising the lowest rung will. You promised us shovel…

thanks for the repost Grippy! I hope that my blog motivates discussion and not name calling.
Me too! xoxox
Just ran across this post — I agree wholeheartedly with you and Maggie, I think that there are all sorts of unfair allegations against Romney and that there should (at the very least) be more fair and balanced assessments of what each has done! It’s clear to me that Romney has America’s best interest in mind and seeks progress, whereas Obama seems to offer only a cocktail of further recession and regression… sorry for the rhyme!
Thanks for posting Grippy! Nice writing Maggie!

Thanks Haley! Your comment reflects the way so many of us feel. Glad you came by!
You should all rejoin the British Empire. Then we can put the monarch’s in charge and we can carry on invading the planet. It worked once, it can work again. 🙂
Good solid plan, Pete. I always love the way your mind works. Brilliant! xoxo
😀 Worry not, I’ll be in charge one day!
Be careful, I have a feeling your blog is about to be invaded by occupiers. What a terrible title. Occupier. Your whole purpose is to occupy space. They’re the packing paper of protesting.
hahah! Good one! I guess we’re all occupiers?
As I commented there, in essence, Obama is just one of the world leaders who shouldn’t be leaders. I can’t think, offhand, of anyone who doesn’t fall into that category. Outstanding ability is what one needs and expects; mediocrity down to utterly bad is what one gets.
I agree whole heartedly. Everyone was so hopeful and now there’s major disappointment.
I’m staying out of this only will say, I love flipping coins 🙂
It’s your blog and if people disrespect your space, hit that old delete button on their comment!!!
Thanks, Lynne! I so appreciate that : )
You are the bravest woman I know, (except for Susie, because she married me). I support you a 100%. Susie and I are glad we “found” you. Thanks for this and everything else you do to make life just a little bit more enjoyable. 🙂
Be encouraged!
I’m glad you support me : ) It was scary to put this out there, talk about making yourself vulnerable! I just felt that there were way too many posts expressing the other side and I thought, well, maybe some people might like to read something that reflects another view…? I thank YOU, Stephen, for always being so kind. You leave a beautiful trail of light and happiness where ever you go. Not a bad way to be thought of, eh?
As for Susie, nah, she’s not so brave. haha!
You should have known me when she first met me…not only was she the bravest, but many of her friends thought she was also the most stupid…hahaha.
We love you…
Be encouraged!
I guess she showed them! : )
Oh man…you inspired me…be encouraged!
Nice one. It’s always good to see both sides. I think I like this side the best 😉
Thanks Lil! It does feel better to have some balance.
By the way, this is unrelated, but I’m the trophy winner over at John Phillips place. Just thought you should know so that you could be jealous. haha!
Haha yeah I saw that! I’m sooo jellies. But really, I wouldn’t know the answers to any of those questions, so it’s good that you can put your music knowledge (or google skills) to good use. haha!
I know. At this point all I have are hunches and sometimes not even those! John is kind and gives me credit for figuring them out. He’s a good guy.
I was a bit worried when I first saw this, but it seems to be working out ok eh?
Lol! I was worried, too. I almost had a heart attack. I think it’s smart and non-emotional so it’s hard to poke holes in. Plus, I think I scared the raging lunatics off with my warning! Thanks for the concern, my friend.
Working on the trivia answer, looks like you keep the trophy for a bit longer.
Ooh cha cha! Maybe I’ll try and come up with a music trivia question for you…?
I missed this post! Meredith and I just came across it. Thank you for posting this. We have lost sleep over this election. I need certain people to dry up blow away. Far away.
