Welcome to Transitional Tuesday!
Transit
Noun * an act of passing through or across a place
ORIGIN late Middle English (denoting passage from one place to another)
Okay, so Toxic Tuesday was short lived. It wasn’t really me, after all. It seemed counter intuitive to my cause, that being, getting myself back to a happy and secure place. I want to feel whole and peaceful. So from now on, I’m going to use Tuesdays to post things that are uplifting, soul nourishing, thought provoking, and happy making. I’ll be choosing things that speak to my soul, maybe they’ll speak to yours as well…?
Here’s to transiting to a better place!
I like transitional Tuesdays and the messages that go with it
Thanks. I just felt like it was a better way to go. (I might slip in a hidden message here and there– haha!)
I think you might have this time
I liked number 1 best 🙂
It makes you think about your life with a greater sense of importance. Each day is precious.
The transition to “transitional” from toxic is a good one for Tuesday or any day. BTW, I borrowed your Life* poster. thanks and good luck
There will also always be a “Pet” in “Peter” 🙂
Lol!! I need to visit soon, so you can pep me up. I think if Lily, you and I go out, we’ll just laugh the entire time.
I like this topic much better than toxic T-day.Thoughtful(like you) they speak volumes
Side note– i see the cracker lady is back (smile)
I had to check that out – I think she is new to my blog? 🙂
Yup, it’s a better topic. Thanks, Audra.
This is much more you than something with the word Toxic in it–good choice. The quotes given are all excellent and, as said by Unfettered, thoughtful (like you). This is a definite keeper. Your soul is being heard without you changing from the person you are into a Toxic Lady.
Well done.
Yeah, the last thing I want to do is add toxicity to my world. I feel better staying clear of it. (I may occasionally sneak in a message or two.) tee hee
You made me laugh.
You are right! Each day matters!
I think each day is precious. If only we could remember that all the time.
love that second one 🙂
I love it too. It feels like someone important giving me permission to do what I want. 🙂
True and the fact it’s handwritten 🙂
I’m glad it was short lived, didn’t want to touch it. The second one is pretty much our motto.
I wish I lived every day with this understanding. Good for you and Lori. It’s as it should be. 🙂
Great words for us today.. If we don’t transition and move along , well, we are as good as a bag of rocks.. I’d rather skips those rocks on the pond than be one 😉
Exactly. I started thinking about this place I’m in as just a pit stop on my way to a better place. I know when I’ve taken road trips I’ve stopped at some disgusting and depressing gas stations to refuel. Never once did I think, well, this is the end of the line. 🙂 I filled the tank, got a few provisions, and got the hell outta there with no intention of returning.
So yeah, I’m at the pit stop in my life. I’m putting it in my rearview mirror. I’ve got a good car, good tunes, a map and great expectations. I’ll get there. We all will. 🙂
Love it.
Thanks, Miss Millie. 🙂
There you are Lisa. 🙂
The idea of transitioning sounded good. As I was saying to Lynne, in the comment above, I realized this is not my final destination, only a pit stop on my journey – a place to refuel, get out the map and move on. I know who I am. I know how to love. I’m taking all those good things with me and putting the rest in my rearview mirror.
Thanks, lady!
Bravo! And then, just remind yourself that there are going to be “work ahead,” detours, and bumps. If you need to pull over and cry for a while, when you hit those metaphorical road hazards, just start your journey again—when you’ve refueled.
Amazing how we can just run with another language! 😉
Good one! Yup, we could really keep going with this!
That CS Lewis quote is incredible and so true. He has such a way of breaking my heart and challenging me. Some of my best memories are of summers between my years in college, reading through his (non-Narnia) works.
I love Transitional Tuesday! To the future! Love you, Lisa!
I wish CS Lewis was single, my age and living in my neighborhood! haha! I find his wisdom and the depth of his character/soul so attractive. Seriously, where are all the CS Lewis types hiding? LOL!! He is challenging in a way that is almost uncomfortable at times- probably because we know he speaks the truth and somewhere deep inside of us we recognize it.
Here’s to transitioning, Emily… you and I are both refueling for our next adventure. 🙂
Wow.. that last one really hit home for me. Thank you for being inspirational!
Love these Transitional Tuesdays, Lisa and these wonderful quotes. As you know, I love this kind of stuff — even when I’m not feeling it — simply reading it makes me feel better and that’s always a step in the right direction.
But should you ever need a toxic Tuesday or Monday or any other day, you go right ahead, here or to me personally. Do what you NEED for you.
Be well, my friend! xxoo
I’m just laughing at Pete’s response. Lol! I like all of those. CS Lewis is so wise.
Pete always makes me laugh. Let’s go visit him soon.
great quotes…
I just saw something on TED that you might enjoy!
I’m doing better with my son… a work in progress! sending you much love…
“It is better to be looked over than overlooked”
“I’ll try anything once, twice if I like it, three times to make sure.”
“Between two evils, I always pick the one I never tried before.”
“A dame who knows the ropes ain’t likely to get tied up.”
“Marriage is a great institution, but I ain’t ready for an institution.”
Just a few words from Mae West who always had a plan and knew what to do with a Tuesday.
“It isn’t what I do, but how I do it. It isn’t what I say, but how I say it, and how I look when I do it and say it. ”
Hugs
Lanier
Oh, I can hear her voice — she always had such a way with words, didn’t she? I used to have a poster of her in my room when I was a teenager. Even then, I appreciated her attitude and take on life – she was something different and irreverent. Love her…
Today I will channel my inner Mae West 🙂
Hugs,
Lisa
Good Lisa I was hopping Mae might inspire…funny how I choose her and there as a teen you admired her.
My favorite is the one about a woman knowing the ropes. It is all about the value of experience. Have a wow Wednesday.
omg. I LOVE every quote on this. We are def soul mates girl. Keep fightin’ the good fight. LOVE that you changed toxic tuesdays to something POSITIVE!!
I’m taking a page from your book, Miss Judy. I’m gonna stay positive and recognize that this is just a pit stop on my journey. I don’t plan on staying too long. I’m gonna refuel, grab my provisions and get the hell outta here! 🙂 On to bigger and better things – I / we haven’t come this far to end up only here… The pay-off is just up ahead. I know it.
XOXOX
Nope. Its all temporary. And no SHITE about having come this far to end up ‘here’…we ain’t done yet. Love you!!!
Life is what happens … when you are not paying attention.
DS
Yeah, I think that’s a good one, too. I must have stopped paying attention, and in return, I got a whole lotta life!! ha!
Great quotes. Uplifting stuff can be wonderful for your mood :).
Yes, Astrid, I’m moving on. 🙂
Wow is all I can say. I really loved this and I love the new name. The CS Lewis quotation is perfect for all of us. He is, without a doubt, the most quotable author to have lived. In my humble opinion, of course. HF
You’re opinion means a lot, HF. Yeah, I started thinking that maybe this time in my life is nothing more than a pit stop, someplace to refuel and regroup, stretch my legs, grab my provisions and move on. I’m not gonna give it more weight or energy than it deserves. I’m on my way to a better place, okay, so I haven’t figured out where that literal place is yet, but I’ll find it. 🙂
Is that better place a NASCAR track because Chicago has a good one and I can get you tickets? HF
Yup, that’s exactly what I had in mind!!! I’ve always thought my better place would be a NASCAR track. What would I do without you to interpret my dreams and fantasies, Harper?
Well, you don’t have to be snooty about it. I’m just trying to help. Geeze, between you and Lily it’s a wonder I have any self-esteem left. She makes fun of my blind, dead wife and you disparage my comments. I’ll go back to my cave now. HF
Why, is there a NASCAR track in there, too? 🙂
You know young lady that putting a smiling face behind a snarky comment is the same as saying “just kidding” after you make a very honest and cutting remark. Well, it won’t fly with me. I’m onto your little game. I’m watching you! HF
I’m liking this direction, lady!
Yeah, I’ve been full up on toxic people my whole life. The last thing I need to do is invite more of it in. I’m much better than that. Thanks, lady!
Great post, great quotes. Thank you!
Thank you for reading them and commenting. Hopefully soon I’ll get my life in order and it will be reflected in my blog 🙂 Better things to come!
Lisa
Great idea! I really like the last one. Forgiving ourselves can be even harder than forgiving others.
It is, isn’t it? I keep thinking what a moron I was for being so trusting… It’s much easier to forgive others, indeed.
Good set!
Just make sure you don’t keep the toxicity bottled up…
I may have to sneak it in occasionally. Tee hee. Seriously, you’re right. That would prove to be very unhealthy down the road.
Love these and yes, you are not a very toxic gal. It doesn’t suit you. May I add this one that I have on a card on my kitchen window so I see it every day and have for years. ‘Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you’ve imagined.” Henry David Thoreau. xoxoxox
awww… I love that one, Maggie. No, I’m not a very toxic gal, as it turns out. I feel better being positive.
Hey, how’d the Saint Ann’s interview go? I hope it went well. I’m sure you nailed it.
Have a happy Super Bowl Sunday!!!
Xoxoxo
I didn’t get an interview! Which stuns me but I have some theories. I need to write about job stuff. I just haven’t had time or energy lately. xo
I love Transitional Tuesdays Lisa! It is definitely you!! And you always pick out the best inspirational quotes and pictures! And that last one — I never ever thought about it that way. Yes!! How true that is. I’m going to forgive myself for that!! 😀 Love you Lisa!! xoxo!
Oh, yay!! I’m glad you agree with the big switch. I’m better when I’m positive, I think.
I find all the quotes on Pinterest. I always choose too many, because I get excited when I read them, and then everything gets diluted! Haha!!!! xoxo!!
haha! I know what you mean. I’ve always loved quotes. I can really get side tracked whenever I go to a quote site — especially if it’s something Al Gore said. If you’ve never googled funny things that Al Gore has said you should Lisa. It will make you laugh so hard you’ll have tears running down your face! I’ve never gone to Pinterest. I guess I”m not really even sure what it is! LOL! I think I’ll have to go over they some day and check them out.
I’m gonna go look for Al Gore quotes! 😀
By the way, my maiden name is Gore – no relation, though, thank heaven!!!
I love these quotes! I especially love, “You know all those things you’ve always wanted to do? Go do them.” Too many people dream of things they want to do, but automatically assume that they’ll never do it.
Or they claim they have no time. Or simply forget about them. I say, don’t forget about your dreams. They’re a part of you, insubstantial though they may seem.
I love this idea of Transitional Tuesday- it’s truly heartlifting.
Thank you, Maddi! That means a lot to me. I like that one too, because it’s hand written and really feels like someone in authority is giving me permission to take care of myself and fulfill my dreams. Something about it feels substantial, right? Go do those things… that’s not a suggestion, that’s an order. 🙂
