The Spy Who Loved Me
M U S I C M O N D A Y
I love Carly Simon, especially her earlier albums. The Spy who Loved Me is a favorite. I don’t know why, but I just found out that Marvin Hamlisch wrote it – and all this time I was giving her the credit! Anyway, this song makes me want to be a Bond girl. It also makes me want to find my James Bond. *wink*
What would your Bond girl name be? Do tell. (Addie’s prompt – she gets the credit)
Great song. But what was the first (and I think the one Bond song) to hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100
Live and Let Die? Or was it Goldfinger? I have no idea?? 🙂
I can’t get the video to pop up instead of just the link, what am I doing wrong?
A View to a Kill-Duran Duran
we all think you would make an excellent Bond girl…Jake thinks he would make a way cool Bond dog…go figure…much love to you from all of us…be encouraged!
In my mind, Jake is a Bond dog!! haha!
Have a great evening, Stephen. 🙂
Thanks Lisa, you too…be encouraged!
It was one of the best Bond theme songs ever, regardless of who wrote it! What would your Bond girl name be, my friend??
hmmmm… very good question! I’ll think about it. What would your Bond girl name be?
As I typed it, I thought, “Please, Lisa, don’t ask me the same question!! I’ll never be clever enough to think of one!!” ahahahahaha!! Let me think a bit. I guess Manic Bleeder won’t do it, eh?
haha! It’s sexy. It might be a keeper.
I just went to the Bond girl name generator, courteousy, John Phillips, and I’m
Lucious McSlut!!! Perfect!!!
Lovely song 🙂 Good luck on your journey to find your James Bond, haha! There’s one for everyone, they say.
Just kidding, that’s not a saying. But it’s true, I’m sure!
I hope it’s true!!! haha! I’m counting on it. 🙂
Verybig “Artificially Bulimic” Tinkerbell

Thanks, John! I’m Luscious McSlut!! I feel like the generator really knows me.
Lol. Although it is a definite Bond girl name
Esther Jiggerschmidt would be my name. Good thing I don’t think I’d ever be one.
I still think Goldfinger is my favorite Bond theme. I’ve never disliked any.
I like them all, too.
Esther jiggerschmidt, huh? It sounds like a winner!
I loved Daniel Craig as James Bond in Casino Royale. Oooooh HOT. This is the kind of song you have to blast and totally sing aloud (alone of course).
Bond Girl eh? With your scaling height and beauty, you are a natural 🙂
Now me? Short and stubby? Naaa I am more Beulah Ballbricker material. (remember that movie? haaa)
Ooh, I love Daniel Craig, too. Ha cha cha…
Puh-lease! You are not Beulah Ballbricker! Somebody’s getting’ it every night, ahem, and her name is Audra. That’s a good Bond quality, I’d have to say….
that’s just cause the poor bastard is stuck with me
ps pardon my cranky language.. haa
Haha! I like your cranky language. Umm… I don’t think he thinks he’s stuck. I think he knows he won the prize. 🙂
Carly Simon’s voice is like home. I like the line “I wasn’t looking, but somehow you found me” — that would be nice huh?
I’m a Roger Moore fan — I don’t think that’s the most popular Bond though. Your post reminds me that I want to see the latest Daniel Craig movie. I loved that poster of him lying down with the gun.
Ingrid Buttgrinder — would be my name — ahahaha!
AHAHaha! That is so not you!! How ’bout Cheeky McCheetah?
I know, that line is such a dream, huh? One day it will happen for us, and then I’ll yell at him and say why didn’t you find me sooner!!! And I liked Roger Moore, too. 😉
I had thought about coming up with something ‘Cheetah’ — Cheeky McCheetah’s purrfect!
SEEEEE…. I told you that your heart would start up again! This year is going to be an adventure for you… titled healing Lisa and you are the author!!!!! Along with God of course! 😉
If my James Bond finds me, it will be an adventure all right! Tee hee 😉
Manic Bleeder comes up with excellent prompts, Luscious!
A song back from the good old days when the Bond music was great!
The Spy Who Loved Me is the only bond book I ever read. Much different from teh movie, and much better!
I’ve gotta say, The Spy Who Loved me is definitely one of the best – I like the opening credits, too. That’s funny that you mentioned the book, I’ve never read any of them…? Maybe I’d like them.
It scares me that John Phillips is “Very Big Tinkerbell.” I guess the generator knows us pretty well, eh? I’m wondering if your name would be something like Bungee Bob or Snow angel Sam…? Maybe those aren’t sexy enough?
Good lord! I would be Regina Randy. (And yes, I entered my real, male name.)
But if I enter Regina Randy, I become Cherry Bodaysha!
I think I’ll go with that,,,
Cherry Bodaysha is sexy as hell. Sounds like a winner to me.
Enjoy your evening, Cherry!
My Bond Girl name would be Kitten Kaboodle. Or maybe Misty Cologne.
Lanier, it figures that you’d come up with the best ones. Those are like designer Bond names, for Pete sake. I’m waiting for you to come up with a matching scent.
(Kitten Kaboodle is my favorite, just sayin.)
I left out the one I thought up for an Irish Bond girl. Kay O’Pectate.
Haha! Perhaps she knows, Pat Mcgroin?
I’m gonna go with Granny Galore.
Hahahhaha!!! Maybe one day they’ll let James age and then Granny Galore will take her rightful place at his side.
The first James Bond movie was Dr. No… not sure if it had a famous theme song….
I don’t think it had a theme song, either. Actually, I can’t even recall the opening credits?
Love the song! I don’t know about a name…Luscious Kitnip. I just made that up! Huh? What do you think?
Luscious Kitnip is a winner! Obviously the name for a hottie. I think that name would turn Bond on. 🙂
So I could not resist the call of the Bondgirl Name Generator-
I put in Audra and out came “Pussycat “Artificially Enhanced” Spyfucker” what the hell? haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
I am all REAL baby .. artificially enhanced –Harumph!
Now I would be a spy@#! especially if they looked like Sean Connery or Daniel Craig(yowzers)
LOL!!! Your name ends up being pretty hard core, huh? That must be for the R rated James Bond version. I would be a spy, too if I could end the day in the arms of Daniel Craig. Ooh-la-la…. He looks like he means business. 😉
I am such an innocent lass to have such a sassy name
Aye, tis true, you’re but an innocent lass.
Ok I feel like the kid wearing pants that are too short on the schoolyard.. I have never seen any James Bond movies.. really..lol..I do like Carly Simon though so do I get bonus points for that?
😉
Well, you’re not missing out on a whole lot. They can be fun and very tongue in cheek. It’s basically the same formula each time – Bond always has an eye candy bombshell who accompanies him while he saves the world. End of story. 🙂
Yeah, Carly Simon has that real 70’s flavor going on. I always liked her.
I’m not sure Bond Girl is my thing… unless they’re cool with me wearing old pajama pants and pimple cream. Sexy, eh?
That sounds super sexy. I think that look will get Bond in a lather. If you’re brave you can go to the Bond girl name generator to know your true identity.
Bummer, I’m late to your Bond Girl party! That woman on that video was running around, doing cartwheels and holding guy whilst naked. I often do that when I’m feeling down, don’t you? I always loved that song. I think my Bond Girl name would Babette Brazen. Has a nice ring to it, don’t ya think?
I responded and it didn’t come up? My wordpress is acting weird.
It’s never a party without you!!
Babette Brazen sounds like a total hottie. I’m sure with a name like that she’d get Bond in a hot lather.
I always do a naked routine on the parallel bars and play with guns when I’m feeling Melancholy. Looks like it’s just another thing we have in common, Brig!
My bond girl name would be Yourina Forasurprise. HF
hahaha! Good one!! She almost sounds a little Italian, no? 🙂
Perhaps a little Stallion might be a better way to put it! HF
Oh, right. Of course! 🙂
Dang smiley faces!
Oops, my bad. 😉
Skyfall is pure Karaoke!
…and by “Karaoke” you mean, Daniel Craig is a total hottie? 🙂
No the song by Adele! Ma Fightback goes “phwoar” a lot when Daniel is on the screen though.
OH… I get it. My mind didn’t leap to Adele whilst I was thinking of Mr. Craig…
A common problem methinks!
In real life, Daniel Craig is way too short for you. Just sayin’. HF
Well, that’s very good to know. I’ll cancel my date with him and cross him off my list of potential suitors.
Thanks, Harper!
Go ahead on the date. You might get a good meal out of it. And, please get me an autograph and see if I can do a bit part in his next bond film. I can play an absent-minded professor that inadvertently gives him the clue that solves the mystery. I will wear my corduroy jacket with the leather elbow patches and hold a pipe in my hand.
But, when the date is over and he has to stand on his tip toes to kiss you goodnight, let him down easy. HF
You paint a lovely picture, Harper. I have other thoughts on this but I best keep them to myself. I think you can do better than a “bit part,” in fact, I’m sure of it. No smiley face – just know that I’m smiling.
It is an extremely good number – but I must admit that my favourite remains the non-vocal theme from the first movie. It really sets the mood so well.
It’s funny because I actually look forward to the music and opening credits as much as the film itself! You’re right, it does so much to set the mood.
My bond girl name would have to be the same as my lazer tag name: Tiger Lily. RAWR
Classic. Always a good choice.
I went to Thunderball on my very first date when I was 15. I can’t remember anything about it except that it was boring as was my first date! HA!
I guess if I were a Bond girl my name would be something like Loretta Van Hinklemyer. She’d be the only Bond girl that was discovered when the director saw her in an advertisement for tri-focals. She sleeps with a board under her mattress so she’ll be able to keep up with James Bond without putting her back out! She’s kind of annoying to be around because her voice is so nasally but she somehow manages to redeem herself in James Bonds’ eyes because of her ability to make really good stir fry on the fly. Hey I’m starting to like her! 😀 Addie knows how to come up with a really good prompt!
And the The Spy Who Loved me is definitely the best bond song. I’ve always loved Carly!
LOLOL!! Tri focals and a board to sleep on!! I really like Loretta Van Hinklemyer! Wasn’t she a secretary or typist at one point? I think she kept making mistakes so I guess they moved her up to stir fry chef? haha!
I think Thunderball would have been a snore!!! haha! Isn’t it just the worst when you’re young and you go on a boring movie date? haha!
aha! Loretta Hinklemyer was the world’s worst secretary. She made Miss Moneypenny look like Miss Moneymillionbucks.
You are so right, Lisa. Boring movie dates were the absolute worst. And as I remember my date was on the cheap side because I hinted that I was thirsty and he pointed out that the theater probably had a drinking fountain somewhere! LOL!! Oy!
That generator likes to call me Pussycat “Frighteningly Enhanced” Tinkerbell. Yep.
I don’t know though – what are the rules for Bond girl names?
The names are usually sexual with a play on words… look them up on google — Famous Bond Girl’s names. You’ll see what the fuss is.
I wish my knowlegde of English was good enough to get all the puns :/.
Until that day I go for something lame as Gloomy o’Sunday or Syren Songe or Lucy Fair.
Hey, this is fun :).
Good ones!!! The thing is, you could probably be a Bond girl, Astrid. You’re probably just what they look for. 🙂
