No Title – that would require too much effort
My emails are simply out of control. There’s a tipping point and I’m afraid I’ve reached it. Now I don’t even want to open it up. Last time I checked there were 126 unopened emails waiting for me. Guess who they’re from? That’s right, they’re from YOU! I’m knee deep in old posts and they just keep accumulating because let’s face it – all of you are incredibly disciplined and prolific. The more they pile up the more guilty and tired I feel. Time to crawl into bed.
For those of you not taking notice of the weather in the midwest, specifically the Chicago area, let me tell you that this summer is one of the suckiest we’ve ever had. I might as well move to Seattle or London, for all the sunshine we’re getting. Not only is it cold and damp and raining in biblical proportions, it’s flying by. Soon it will be winter. No, I’m not being dramatic. In case you forgot what winter looks like, and you’re actually enjoying your summer, I’ve found a couple of images that will jerk back into reality.
I’ve been in a true funk lately. Normally I go to the movies, at least once a week during the summer. The last film I saw was Star Trek — I had heard a rumor that they had brought the real soft pretzels back to the concession stand and so I was lured in. Indeed they had. Thank goodness! One of the reasons I love going to the movies is that I get to eat junk food in the dark. (Don’t pretend you don’t like that.) Has anyone seen anything good lately? Everything looks sort of crappy. Am I wrong?
Remember the summer when Grease was released? Now THAT was a good summer – of course I was a teen, but still.
I want my summer to look and feel like this.
But not this.
Maybe I should just start a book? 🙂
It is absotutely bee you ti ful out here! come join us!
I’m sorry you are in a funk. Have you seen The Heat? Going on Friday night with my sis and Annie.
xoxox
That’s one that I’m looking forward to. I need a good laugh and Melissa McCarthy does it for me. She cracks me up. I’m glad you’re having great weather. It’s literally cold here.
Have fun at the movie!!
Lily and I will be there, in sunny Portland (lol) before you know it. 😀
when?!
I’m thinking for Lily’s birthday – October 5th? End of September? Something like that. How fun would that be?
When I opened my mail and saw a blog post by your own dear self, I actually said aloud, “Oh, yay!! I’ll see how Lisa is doing!” DC was not impressed with my talking to myself.
Sorry to hear about the Weather Blues. Perhaps it’s time to take a trip with Lily and hit up Disney World or a beach somewhere, and soak in either Mickey and crew or sun. Did you sell the house? How is Zumba going? Mr. Hands? So many questions! Are you keeping a steady pace towards that lovely peaceful spot? Never forget, God has His eye on you, and holds you in His heart.
Miss you, Missus.
Addie
So many questions Addie! I may need to email my responses. Writing this post took it out of me. LOL! (Even though most of it is just pictures.)
Give DC a little head rub for me.
Still doing Zumba, staying in the house temporarily, Hilton Head is in my future (last week of August – everyone is invited) Mr. Hands… wait, who? 😉
Always good to hear from you, lady.
xoxo
Glad to see you back and sorry you are in a funk…the weather is awful here too (NY!). I heard an interesting interview with film producer Lynda Obst about why there are no good movies…since the death of dvd sales, which were a huge source of revenue for the studios, films are geared for the global market, a huge portion of which is now China and Russia…and they don’t like dialogue, let alone sensitive subjects, they like all the tech explosions and testosterone fueled plot-lines etc. And another interesting point…Women will go to “guy movies” but guys won’t go to “women’s movies” and so fewer and fewer films are being made for women. Depressing. The only good movie I have seen lately was “Moonrise Kingdom.” I also liked “Perks of a Wallflower.” Last year it was “Ides of March” and “Jane Eyre.” But I am not sure there will be many more films for me!
Ugh. I hate those testosterone films. I agree, we need a good romantic, soul satisfying film to sustain us. I hate that there are none to be found. I never saw Moonrise Kingdom but I wanted to. I read Perks of a Wallflower and loved it. Ides of March and Jane Eyre – Satisfying.
I think they say that New York usually gets our weather 12 hours later – something like that? It’s definitely not what any of us needed after that never ending winter. LOL! Oh well. At least we have our sense of humor, right?
Don’t you worry about opening those emails from me! I will still be here waiting for you when you return. ;D With all that goes on in life, feeling like you’re “neglecting” blogging is such a weird, first-world problem; I feel that way often so I’ve scaled back reading a LOT of blogs this summer. It’s just too much!
I totally feel you on the weather too. It is REDONKULOUS here with the rain. Seriously, it’s pouring right now as I type this, and I think it’s rained every single day for the last two weeks. We drove two hours east to the beach earlier this week and the rain just came with us. Really, summer? Really? Crossing my fingers that it’s somewhat decent for the 4th! Loved those pictures of snow; it’s so muggy here that it’s nice to be reminded that snow does indeed exist.
Hang in there, Lisa. To every thing turn, turn, turn…..
Thanks, my Emily. Every time I see a post from The Waiting I die a little. I think I’m behind by like 25! No, probs just 5? Yeah, that’s the ticket. 😀
The weather is such a suck fest here. They said it’s supposed to be okay tomorrow but I’m keeping my flannel night gown close by in case I have to hunker down. LOL!
I’m heading to Hilton Head– Sea Pines the last week of August to get my fix of muggy, steamy southern weather. Hey, we can do a swap, a house exchange, anytime you want. You can shovel and freeze and I can complain about my unruly hair and fogged up glasses. DEAL!
Kiss that little angel bunny for me. I bet she’s really getting to be a bossy boots now, right? 🙂 So totally cute when they become little tyrants. haha!
Oh, she certainly is! She learned to say “cookie” so now that’s ALL she says ;D
Even in a funk you are absolutely hysterical! LMAO, LOL, LSHIPMP…(I’ll let you figure out that last one). Not gonna compare Texas weather with the Windy City. Suffice it to say, BiG Hair Dryer. Cheer up, there are only 174 more days ’til Christmas. 😉
Honie! Your comment made me LOL and probably whatever that last one was — something about peeing my pants!? YES! haha!!
I’m so glad I didn’t put away my winter clothes. I may need to get in my flannel pajamas and start a fire for my fourth of July celebration! …only in Chicago. 😉
Lisa, can’t tell you how often I’ve thought of you… since my email, I’ve been trying to respect your need to work things out, but I understand what funk feels and looks like. The word “funk” doesn’t really cover it, does it? I’ve missed you on my blog… but you can rest in knowing that I’ve hardly posted lately! I’m still coming up for air. I must also let you know that we are having sublime, I mean SUBLIME weather here. You could still move! Really. You need to turn things around somehow… believe me I know. When I came home from vacation this week, there were 178 emails in my WordPress inbox, alone!! I felt so overwhelmed and guilty for not keeping up. I’m just working my way through them… no pressure. We all love you and hope you’re back in your grand saddle soon! I think LSHIPMP only applies to gals our age… but I figured it out: Laughed So Hard I Peed My Pants! bahahaha hugs.
Oh Dawn. *Deep sigh* I think of you all the time, too. I have been keeping track of your posts and thankfully I’m not too far behind. I think I’m going to plan a visit to your neck o’ the woods for September /early October. How does that sound? LSHIPMP!! Yeah, it applies to girls our age. haha! I only wish I could LITERALLY LMAO. Wouldn’t that be nice?
Today is actually starting off well with the sun shining. So far, so good. I realized I must sound like such a granny talking about the weather all the time. What am I, like 80? But it does effect my mood – it really does.
I’m glad you are in a sublime pocket of beautiful weather. That makes me happy for you.
I’m getting through, though there are days that I feel particularly fragile. I hope you are feeling fine and have turned the corner out of funkdom. I feel that you have. It’s nice to have someone in my life who so gets me. Thanks for the friendship, my beautiful friend. xoxox
So, pretend you’re in the North Woods and you spent a ton of money on a lake cottage. Then, you’ll at least feel like you’re on vacation. Or maybe not. Hm…..suffering with you here in Naperville.
Hey Mr. Naperville. Am I right about this crap weather or not? It’s so hit and miss. Mostly miss. I like your idea of renting a lake cottage, although when it rains at the lake, that’s any lake, it’s one of the most dark and depressing places to be – almost spooky. haha! Okay, so cross lake rental off my list. I left you a message on your about page…
Well I may have the 90 degree-humidity sucking weather it has been raining every day of late.. don’t think the weather will be any better in NOLA…
as for those emails, I have given up ever trying to catch up.. my writing blog is growing spider webs..
try to have a fun summer 😉
lynne
Hey Lynne! Thanks for validating me. My blog is a joke at this point, cob webs and all. I like the idea of the reader only, but I fear I would really lose track of my important peeps if I didn’t have up to the minute posting news! haha! Obviously I need to loosen my grip a little and stop being so compulsive. By the way, I’m loving your photos! You are SOO talented! Such an exceptional eye for interesting images.
Enjoy your summer, too. Are you completely into NOLA? Or straddling the two?
hiya.. still straddling the 2 cities but headed back this week with what I hope is my last jaunt before the move.. have to make sure my housing situation is exactly what i want.. Geesh.. well have a great rest of the 4th..it rained here plus I worked OT so it’s just another day.
Take care of you and please stay in touch!
PS-thanks for liking my pictures..I’m hoping to get in a photography class or group once settled 🙂
I’m so disciplined I can’t refrain from adding to your email… Hey. You SHOULD write a book. Beyond all your other virtues… You. Are. Funny. 😉 p.s. everything at the movies is kinda crappy right now, gotta wait for the autumn releases.
Haha! I’m glad I give some of you a light chuckle with my ridiculous banter. I started thinking about how often I report on the weather and my mood, and realized I must sound like an 80 year old!
The movies are particularly crappy this summer, am I right? I need to look at the fall line up so that I have something to look forward to. Maybe the fact that I’ve been out of the theaters for this extended period of time correlates with my new weight loss? 😀
I went to the movies last week (air conditioning!) and waited for the “freshly” popped corn and it was an unseemly fluorescent color and tasted like… exactly like…SALT. Disgusting, and I ate the whole thing. As to the Fall releases, better make that Christmas… “Saving Mr. Banks” and “August, Osage County”. xox!
Whoa whoa lots of gifs! I’ve never been more proud. Having too many emails is gross. The thing about not reading people’s posts is that they’ll understand if you don’t get to them. If I were you I would delete all the post emails at least! Or just pick one from each person? Then it will feel more manageable maybe?
Last week and this week have been like 80 degrees here! I’m freaked out that it’s cold and dreary there. At least you are going on some trips soon!
Also, I love that they brought soft pretzels back. I don’t even like soft pretzels but I’m happy that they have them for you. I saw the movie This Is the End and it made me laugh soooo much. It’s kind of gross in parts but it’s pretty hilarious. There’s always that and Monster’s University!
I knew you’d be proud. Although they don’t seem to be all working? That always makes me a little crazy – as you know.
I’m too compulsive with my blogging friends. That’s the way it is. I feel like I shouldn’t miss a post or I’ll fall out of the loop. I just have to loosen my grip a little. I really enjoy reading the posts I follow – so many gifted writers.
I heard from Maggie and Dawn that the weather up there was gorgeous. Good for you! The weather here has been ultra sucky.
Soft pretzels – yes, they are quite a treat for me. I’m glad I can be made happy with the little things in life. I’m really such a simple soul when you think about it… 😀
I may have to see This Is The End. Could I go with Spencer or would it be awky?
Maybe we’ll just see The Heat even though he’ll probably hate it.
I hope the funk clears soon, and that you get some sun.
I agree that you should not worry about getting caught up. Delete and start another day!
If I could send you some of the TX sunshine I would.
Hey Rachelle. I wrote a comment about your beautiful and honest post that you made for Eric’s blog but he doesn’t like me and so he didn’t allow it on. (Don’t ask – it’s mind numbing). Anyway, I just think you are incredibly gifted, and coupled with your raw honesty, well, you are a major writer, someone who needs to get published for the masses to enjoy. I mean it.
I’ll take that Texas sunshine, thank you very much.
Have a beautiful Fourth of July, pretty lady!
Lisa
The weather has been so sucky that even I sat through TWO movies this weekend! although it was at home not the theater — still pretty good for me.
I’m right there with ya on the Funk-o-meter!
All my WordPress notifications somehow got routed to my spam — problem solved. I never go in my spam !
Be well Gripster. You are well loved around here ( smile)
Ps I laughed out loud when I saw the little girl get whacked by the door in your gif. What does that say about me??
hahah! I knew you would like that as much as I did! We’re a little twisted, but in a good way, right?
I’m proud of your movie viewing, even though it was at home. Good for you. Yeah, sometimes a little escape is needed from funky town. This weather is a 10 on the suck scale of summer weather – although today seems to be shaping up nicely. Someone upstairs must have heard me complaining. 😀
Spam, eh? Good plan. Tee hee
Hope you loose the funk soon. With the move, I had to step away from the blogosphere myself. A break is good. We’ve got plenty of dry, hot temps in the west….I’ll send ya some if you send me some rain….lol.
I’ll gladly send you some of this rain, Ingrid. It’s like a jungle here – green and lush. The only good thing I can say is that my Hydrangeas, for whatever reason, look like something out of the Wizard Of Oz. They are beautifully mutant this year. lol!
If I concentrate on my blooms maybe I’ll get out of my funk?
Hope you’re doing well!!
Have a Happy Fourth of July!!
Lisa
The weather isn’t much better here. We get the same junk a few days later and probably a bit more acidic.
Why do we use the word funk for a long-term bad feeling and for fun black people music? I’m so lost.
Be well! We’re always here to read and listen and bother.
Thanks, kind Tim. Yeah, the weather has been sub-par for summer. After the never ending winter I can’t help but be a little disgruntled.
Funk is close to another word, so close that my little dyslexic brain would sometimes confuse them when I was just a young’n. LOL! It is a weird multi-tasking word, I’ll give you that. 😀
YOU be well on this Fourth of July and go find yourself some fun. Okay?
xox
No matter how dreary or wet or humid or cold, I say to myself over and over, “I’m outside, I’m outside, I’m outside.” Because soon I won’t be.
This is a fine perspective that only a Canadian could pass along. (Canada being the world’s hub of sucky weather, with the state of Illinois in second place) I thank you, Ross. Much obliged.
That sucks it’s raining all the time. I can recall a couple of New York summers where it seemed to rain every day, and there was one summer when the temperature stayed below 70 the whole time.
I sure hope things pick up — goodness — at least they could give you a decent movie!
Ahaha! — I also laughed at the kid getting hit with the door.
I love movie snacks — I never thought about the idea of the dark being connected to enjoying the giant-sized junior mints and popcorn with abandon.
I don’t know if this would work for you, but when I decided to go easy on blogging, I changed my settings so that I only get notifications in the reader.
I hope the sun comes out tomorrow 🙂
You and Audra are the two people that I knew would appreciate the door slam. Haha! After a ridiculously long winter, you’d think the weather Gods would ease up a little, right? I’m aware that I sound like an 80 year old woman complaining about the weather. Imagine what a complainer I’ll be when I’m actually that old. LOL!
I need a good movie, something to sink my teeth into, oh wait, that’s my milk duds and hot pretzel. 😀
Yeah, I think easing up on the blogging emails is a smart thing to do. It’s just hard to unplug when you legitimately enjoy reading what people write and keeping up with their lives. It would be difficult to let one of yours fall by the wayside, you know what I mean? One of my all time favorites of yours was the Match.com profile. I still think of that to this day and it cracks me up.
Have a beautiful Fourth of July, Sandee!!
The sun is coming out here – I hope it is for you, too.
Lisa
sometimes I have to delete a whole lot of posts because I cannot keep up or stand the guilt–then I read a handful of my favourites (you being one) and then I feel in control again–
our summer has been hot, then rainy, and now it is hot and rainy. I am looking forward to the new movie with Alison Janny in it (not sure I am spelling her name correctly)–she was C.J. Craig on West Wing and my husband and I just finished watching the whole seven seasons and now I want to be C.J. and when I have a problem I ask myself WWCJD? I am getting exceedingly silly of late–but as a Cdn I found West Wing addictive.
Glad to hear from you–I knew I was missing something important in my life,…
I think the movie you’re talking about is, “The Way Way Back.” You’re right, it might be a decent choice. It got 3 stars in People magazine – for what it’s worth. I like Allison Janney, too. She’s a good character actress. There are some people that signed off for the summer and I was sad to see them go, but now I see the wisdom in doing this. My problem is I don’t want to miss anything and since I feel like I have this wonderful community of friends it would be the equivalent of not picking up my phone when it rings. Maybe not… but that’s what it feels like.
You’re so sweet, Lou Ann. I see your little green emblem and wonder how you’re doing, taking one day at a time (do we have a choice? haha!) like I am.
Sending happy thoughts your way, my friend. xoxo
You have two choices… come to San Francisco and go perfume shopping with me or…. Get your butt up and to the movies and go see The Heat. If Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy don’t make you laugh for a full 90 minutes and then a hearty boo hoo for two minutes…..well then I give up!
I do hope the sun comes out soon. I think it may be just in your heart right now waiting to pop out and surprise you.
Hugs
Lanier
Aww… your comments are always like a little treasure to me, Lanier. Thank you for brightening my day. Trust me when I say that I have thought about flying out to San Francisco – I’ve never been, can you believe that? Perfume shopping with the master would be so incredible, a real treat. You can be sure that if I’m ever in your fair city that you and I will have some shopping to do. 😉 That’s a promise.
I’m looking forward to The Heat. I feel like it’s a guaranteed laugh fest with those two at the helm.
What’s this…? Yes, the sun is coming out! Thanks, my kind friend for stirring my heart. Just in the nick of time. 🙂
Hugs!
Lisa
Hip hip hoooray!!
PS….and stop with the guilt!! We love you kiddo!
I hear you. xoxo
OK, so hop the Dan Ryan to the Skyway to 65 and go about 900 miles south and I’ll have a beach chair, umbrella & iced tea waiting for ya. 😀
haha! Don’t tempt me. I may just show up. 😉
A beach chair, umbrella and an ice tea sounds De-Light-Full.
Put on a Hawaiian shirt, grab an umbrella, and grin at everyone rushing about as you stroll along! (Hey, it works for me sometimes when the weather is crappy. Yes, I wore Hawaiian shirts pretty often in winter in college.)
As for the email pile, learn to love the delete button. I hate tossing unread stuff, but I follow waaaaay too many blogs to be able to keep up with everything from everyone. And if some of my stuff ends up in the not-read pile, that’s worth it to me for you to not have the guilt and keep your peace of mind.
(Besides, I can always see you here when you post!)
And if you like, come to nyc and enjoy the humidity!
NYC! The humidity in the big apple, combined with the lovely wafting aromas (you know exactly what I’m talking about) is sometimes enough to make me want to… visit you, Guapo!
If I put on a Hawaiian shirt and grinned at everyone as they walked by, people might confuse me for you. It’s possible – I’m just saying.
I always wonder how YOU do it? You have such a significant presence on my blog that even if you didn’t pop in (has that ever happened?) it would still feel like you were here. 🙂 I feel like not reading someone’s post is like not picking up the phone when it rings, and knowing that it’s someone I care about makes it even harder. 😦
I just have to get more casual and ease up a little. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
You’re always so thoughtful. Thanks my friend. xox
Yep, the phone line describes it perfectly.
But I follow too many blogs to be able to read everything. There are some I try never to miss, and then a range all the way down to ones I only read occasionally.
Not really a good system, but once I hit 100 post notifications, something is getting deleted unread.
Tired of rain here too… When the post e-mails seemed to much I changed most of my subscriptions to show up on reader only. Somehow I find it easier to cope with scrolling down the reader than opening all those e-mails. Hope the sunshine finds you — and the west coast gets a bunch of that rain it so needs.
The sun is actually out today! Yay! Maybe someone upstairs heard all of my complaining? 🙂 The weather patterns in the country seem so extreme lately…
It looks like you’re not alone in using only the reader to catch up on posts. I might have to try this idea for awhile. I know that I definitely need to ease up – I have too much guilt when I miss something. 🙂
Have a beautiful Fourth of July!! Enjoy the day!!
Lisa
It’s pouring here and supposed to continue all day but I’m holed up inside with no plans but writing so it’s okay.
The extra thing I like about getting rid of most e-mail subscriptions (I kept a few for blogs of people I’ve made friends with) is just not seeing that pile in my inbox! And somehow it’s easier with the reader for me to take a glance and choose not to read every post.
Have a lovely day yourself — especially enjoy that sunshine!
You should definitely come to London. I could show you loads of puddles and ice cream stands selling overpriced lollipops.
Exactly. Puddles and ice cream stands. Thanks for the invite, Michael. 🙂
Hope you’re doing well.
Aww the pictures are so beautiful….. Amazing. I have saved some too in my pc 😛 Nice work
I’m glad you liked them. They make me happy, well, most of them do. 🙂
Have a wonderful day and thanks for the great comment!
Lisa
Dearest Gripping
Get a Grip!
Imagine it could be worse… you could actually live in London and therfore expect nothing more of your summer!
By way of words of comfort, we have just been told that climate change means our summers will be cooler and wetter! Imagine cooler and wetter than a British summer, that would pass for the Arctic in some places.
Hence I believe the term ‘global warming’ has ben dropped in all news reports here.
Amd do, do. do read a book… but not that one.
I think summer is the best time of year for very long novels, things that can be picked up and put down again and last a whole season.
Whatever you do, try and make the only funk in your life of a musical type.
Yours ever
The Perfumed Dandy
PS Buy new perfume… it always work for me!
Oh, Dandy, let me tell you… I have recently dropped a bundle on perfume. I can’t help myself. I think you and Lanier have really gotten to me. I get excited when I see something you’ve reviewed – I’m sure the person behind the counter is thinking, “Calm down, lady. It’s just perfume.” If only they knew. If. Only.
The idea of London becoming more wet and more cool… well, this is too funny. It’s not possible is it? Dandy, you really made me laugh. 😀
A long novel and an epic shopping spree where I indulge in the world of rare and exotic perfumes… I may find a way out of my funk after all.
Thank you, Dandy.
Gripping
Dearest Gripping
I must confess that I to have been stocking up (who am I kidding – adding to the lake more like) on fragrance too.
Maybe it’s our non-summer, more likely it’s just what I like to do.
As for long novels I really can’t recommend them too much “A Dance to the Music of Time” is particularly fine (and immense).
Yours ever
The Perfumed Dandy
Hey Lisa, hope your funk gets better soon. Understand it, I do! I’m moving soon and will let you in on it whenever I can. Crazy around here and it’s really hot and humid. Glad you’re doing okay though and much love to you.
I think about you all the time, Brig. I figured you were going ahead with everything and were in full throttle. I’m excited for you. I think this is going to be just the ticket. I feel it in my bones. I also feel that with you a little closer, we’ll meet up in the not so distant future. 🙂 I’m counting on it.
Stay cool and best of luck with the difficult parts of the move. It’s not always easy or fun but once it’s over you can relax and enjoy – okay, so I just stated the obvious. haha! It’s not like you don’t already know. OY! 😀
We will catch up soon once the dust settles.
All my love!
xoxo
The sun has decided to shine in Blighty! Hope you feel happier soon.
Now that’s a real twist! Cheers, Ginger!!
Glad you can enjoy a little blue sky and warmth. 🙂
We have the same weather pattern as you do… and I’m of the same mind as you are..it’s flying by. I haven’t been able to keep up with all my emails either but I do a few at a time…and try to sort them when I can .. It happens Diane
Hi Diane. You are one of the people that I know I’ve neglected. I read your posts and I believe that you went through something very serious recently, right? Something medical? I’m so sorry I missed the opportunity to send you my well wishes. I hope you’re feeling better now. This is what happens when I get on over load. People fall through the cracks. I just need to find some balance and get things sorted. 🙂
Have a wonderful Fourth of July. I hope the weather is pleasing for you today.
Lisa
Completely understand… I’m recovering but strength is a problem … not sleeping due to an issue that I need to see specialist for …but I’m hoping that things will get better..Thanks for asking… Diane
There’s but one thing to do with the e-mails: DELETE ALL. If you don’t have to face them, they don’t really exist, right?
Good advice but hard to do! I wish I was more like you and Lily. She has no problem with deleting and just staying in her own little world. 🙂 Ahh, to be young!
It’s quite hard sometimes! I totally have the feeling of guilt when you’re not catching up as well ;). But you’ll be fine, just close your eyes, push the delete button and start all over again! 😉
I’m glad I don’t live in Kalamazoo any more if that is what summer is like. Yuk. Of course, Phoenix was 118 this past weekend so it could be worse. Oh wait, it IS. For me.
Accumulation of email tip: move down past a manageable chunk at the top, highlight the rest, and shove ‘delete’.
Or else, book yourself into a home for nutters.
Haha! Good advice! I think this is exactly what I’m going to do.
Hi Lisa!!!! Totally want to get my hands on that book in your last pic. hahahahhaha. It’s hot as hell here in Colorado. I too have been going to many movies. Last one was World War Z…I liked it. I like end-of-the-world-zombie movies though. I have discovered as of yet that I cannot eat the popcorn anymore. Unless I want the added excitement of making it to the bathroom in time…I think it’s the ‘butter’ which is really just oil, which is really castor oil to me. TMI!!!!!! Oh well….I miss you!!!!!! What’s yer next movie outing? OOOOOOO If you can catch Much Ado About Nothing, I HIGHLY recommend it!!! Beautiful. Thanks for the pretzel idea. Noted for next movie time dark eating snack.
Hi my lovely and beautiful friend. 🙂
The book title really sums it up, does it not? haha!
TMI!! I know I’m getting old because I can’t drink a big soda or eat a lot of popcorn anymore. I literally get sick while I’m sitting there. That’s why I prefer a nice hot salted pretzel. Delish. Or, Milk Duds, or, well, everything else. 😀
I hope you’re well. I have to catch up on your last few posts. I did read that you made reservations for New York in October. Maybe I can go at the same time and we could meet for lunch or dinner or something – my treat!! I’d LOVE that!! How great to just hang out?
Lots of cool blogging peeps there – especially Guapo! Let’s make this happen. Woo hoo!
omgosh!!! That would be awesome!!! Because I don’t know what’s going on with my daughter…she may be working…so meeting up would be WONDERFUL!!! We’ll have a mini NY MeetUp!!!
Yay!! A mini NY meetup!! Consider it done. 🙂
The weather sucks here, too. It’s either so hot and humid I can’t bear the thought of going outside, or raining.
At least your post (and the Grease flashback) made me smile.
You always pick the funniest gifs and pictures and the ones that tell a thousand words. I hope you had a nice, relaxing vacation. You sound energized and ready to go again. That sucks that you’re weather isn’t cooperating with lovely summer weather. It sounds like the disappointing summers we used to have when we were exiled in Seattle for six of the longest years in any time zone! But I am so glad you are back! I’m so far behind on reading blogs there isn’t even a word for it. I’m ashamed to say how many e-mails I’ve got in my mailbox but I’m surprised it hasn’t been condemned! (I switched to Gmai and can’t figure out how to delete my inbox!) Anyway Lisa I’m going to pop over to your newest post now, YAY! 😀
Lisa
Just checking up on ya♡♡
I’m alive. Just trying to find my balance and clear my head a little. How are you, pretty lady? I think about everyone and all the good posts I’m missing but I have to stay away. if I don’t I’ll get sucked back into the blogging vortex! Lol! I will return but it won’t be for awhile.
I hope you’re well and happy. know that you’re in my thoughts.
Have a beautiful Thanksgiving. We really do have so much to be thankful for, don’t we?
Blessings to you!!! Xoxo!!!
Great pictures. Is that a real book? It sounds awesome.
Thanks. I’m not sure about the book. I saw it on Pinterest and it made me laugh. If you ever find it let me know. I’m still in my funk but plan to return to blogging in the near future. It’s been a rough year.
Thanks for reading and commenting!
Have a great Thanksgiving!
Lisa
Hiya Grippy!
Hope all is well, and you’re enjoying a festive, relaxing and happy christmas.
Soon we’ll be able to wave happily at the tail end of a very long year…
Amen brother. I hope to return soon – just need to get my life sorted out a little more. I miss you and think of you often. Hope all is well and wonderful in your world. Happy New Year, my kind friend! xoxox
Lots of Grippy Love and Hugs,
Lisa
Season’s Greetings Lisa! I’ve wanted to wish you a ho-ho-ho-Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year but didn’t know where to reach you so I finally decided to try here (I dither!), I have no idea if this will reach you but I sincerely hope you are well and not letting life bring you down. Here’s wishing you the happy and fulfilling future you deserve. Love, George
I’ve not been on WordPress for many moons, as you know. I received a notification in my email and it put a smile on my face. Thanks for reaching out to me, George. I miss you and think of you all the time – all that talent and goodness! Hopefully you’re putting it to use and, hopefully, this note finds you happy and well.
I’m trying to get my self together enough to make a return to wordpress. Life has been draining – very up and down. (mostly down.) But I remain in good spirits and feel like 2014 will be a much better year.
We’ll meet up again, soon, George, I promise. 🙂
Lots of love and admiration,
Lisa xoxo
Oh, Lovely Lisa, it is such a relief to hear from you, I have been worried about you. I’m so glad to hear you say you remain in good spirits but very sad that life has not been treating you well. Believe me, my warm friend you will soar like a phoenix soon or – if you’ll permit me to mix my metaphors! – the things that have kept you shackled will fall away, you will be free from those lows and the satisfaction and joy you deserve will be yours.
Is it okay to admit that your kind words brought tears to my eyes? Well, just as long as you don’t think of me as emotional… 😉
I hope you’re having a fine New Year’s Day – 2014 will bring you wonders I’m sure.
By the way, you have my email address so if you ever need to talk I am here for you.
Many Hugs and a Happy New Year, Georgie X
This will be our year, George. Fingers crossed!
You are dear to me, always lifting my spirits. Thank you for being so kind and tender hearted.
Lots of love,
Lisa

Hope you’re dong well, Lisa! I wonder how you are from time to time.
If only there were some sort of personalized electronic form of post office I could use to contact you.
Oh, well, maybe one day they’ll think of something…
Pops in to see what there is to see – sees that the owner did pop in recently although everything is still locked up and under covers. Maybe there will be a move back in due course … 🙂
Long time, no Grippy.
Hello my friend… ❤️
I just saw , “ Long time, no Grippy.” 🥲
I’m living in Franklin Tennessee – 20 minutes from Nashville. I would love to see you, if you’re ever here?
I hope you’re doing well and are happy. You probably won’t believe this but I actually thought about you the other day. So weird to stumble onto an old message of yours…
I hope you still have my email, if not let me know.
Take care and let’s stay in touch. 💕
Lisa
